Custom Email Domain Setup

You can now send email notifications (like Pre-order Confirmations, Back in Stock Alerts, or Shipping Delay notices) using your own branded email address instead of the default @timesact.com domain.

Setting up a custom domain helps improve email deliverability and builds trust with your customers.

Step 1: Add Your Sender Email

  1. In the Timesact app, go to Settings > Notifications.
  2. Under Custom Email Domain Setup, enter the sender email address you want to use.
  • Make sure this email address uses a custom domain that you own.
  • Free email services like Gmail or Yahoo are not supported.
  1. Click Configure to begin DNS setup.

Once submitted, the system will display the DNS records you need to add to your domain provider.

Step 2: Add DNS Records to Your Domain

To verify your domain and allow Timesact to send emails on your behalf, you’ll need to add a few DNS records exactly as shown.

  1. Log into your domain provider (e.g. GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare).
  2. Find the DNS Management section.
  3. For each row in the table:
  • Copy the Type, Host/Name, and Value/Data.
  • Create a new DNS record in your provider for each.
  • Save the changes.

Important Notes:
- DNS changes may take up to 24 hours to take effect.
- Double-check the values for accuracy.
- Do not delete the DNS records later, or email sending will stop.
- If you're unsure how to add them, contact your domain provider's support.

Step 3: Validate the DNS Records

After adding the DNS records:

  1. Wait at least 1 to 2 hours (up to 24 hours in some cases).
  2. Go back to Timesact and click Validate DNS Records.
  3. Once validated, your domain will show as Verified, and all future emails will be sent from your custom address.

Example

If your sender email is notifications@shopname.com, once the DNS setup is complete and verified, your customers will see notifications coming from that address.

This improves brand consistency and reduces the chances of emails going to spam.
