How To Set Up Custom Pre-Order Emails: Enhanced Customer Communication

This feature allows you to send an additional, dedicated email to your customers to confirm their pre-order and clearly communicate important shipping details, dispatch dates, or any special conditions related to their purchase.

1. When to Use This Feature

You have the flexibility to use this email as a secondary confirmation, but it is most necessary in the following scenario:

  • You are NOT using Timesact’s Selling Plans: If you do not use selling plans, the pre-order details are not automatically added to the Shopify confirmation email. The custom email ensures customers are clearly informed.

  • You require an EXTRA reminder: Even if you use Selling Plans, you may enable this feature if you want a dedicated, styled email purely to confirm the item is a pre-order.

This example email from Shopify will include the Timesact Selling Plan name if a Selling Plan is enabled:

2. How to Set It Up (Actionable Steps)

To activate and customize the pre-order emails:

  1. Enable the Cart Label: Ensure the Cart Label is enabled on your pre-order template within the Timesact app.
  2. Edit the Template: Navigate to the email settings in the app and Edit and Customize your pre-order email template to match your brand and messaging.
  3. Activate Emails: Turn On the custom pre-order emails feature.

3. Critical Notes for Merchants

Please be aware of the following important details when using this feature:

  1. Shopify Email Conflict: None. This custom email is in addition to the standard Shopify order confirmation email. Your customers will receive both.
  2. Tracking Sent Emails: **To verify which customers received the email, go to the **Orders tab in the Timesact app and check the Notifications tab.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Custom preorder emails sent by Timesact Preorder do not disable the confirmation emails sent by Shopify. Customers will still receive those confirmation emails.

This is how the email will look in the customer's inbox:
