What Are Partial Payments and Legacy Workflow?
Timesact provides two distinct checkout workflows tailored to different business requirements. Comparing their features helps you choose the right setup to streamline sales and optimize your checkout experience.
New Workflow
Partial and deferred payments are available in the new workflow. Pre-order items can only be paid for using Shopify Payments or PayPal Express.
Under the new workflow, after an order is processed, its fulfillment status depends on the shipping date set in the Selling Plan and will be either “Unfulfilled,” “Scheduled,” or “On Hold.”
Legacy Workflow
Under the legacy workflow, you can use any Shopify-approved payment method, but partial or deferred payments are not available. After an order is processed, its fulfillment status always remains Unfulfilled regardless of whether you set No Date, a specific Date, a Period, or an Interval. This workflow bypasses the limitations listed in the Shopify documentation above.
