Either way, you might miss out on potential sales because your customers cannot order the product. A preorder option is highly recommended, as it improves your cash flows and gauges potential actual demand.

Step 1 - Install the Timesact Preorder app.

Step 2 - Enable the app block

This step will allow the Timesact app to display changes to your store's pages. Without it, none of the settings in the app will work, so please ensure it's enabled. Make sure to hit save in the top right corner. We toggle it on by default when you hit enable.

Step 3 - Add your product into the app

How to set up custom preorder emails

Some considerations when deciding how to use preorder emails

If you are using selling plans in Timesact Preorder, the Selling Plan name is automatically pulled into your Shopify confirmation emails as a cart line item. Your customers will be informed about shipping conditions or whatever other information you choose to highlight in that field.

For example:

it is not mandatory to also send out an extra email about the status of the preorders.

If you are NOT using selling plans or you want an extra email sent out to emphasize that certain items are on preorder and will be shipped later (or other conditions), you can choose to turn on preorder emails.

|| Custom preorder emails sent by Timesact Preorder do not disable the confirmation emails sent by Shopify. Customers will still receive those confirmation emails. || If you enable the Timesact preorder emails, they will be sent from the preorder@timesact.com inbox. Currently it is not possible to send these emails from your specific domain. Note: that is on our roadmap.

Equally significant is the option to signal to customers in your store that the product will soon be available for purchase. Here is how you can add a coming soon option to your Shopify store in just a few simple steps.

Step 1 - Install the Timesact app a.k.a Preorder Notify Me Preorder T on your store:

Step 2 - Enable the app block for Timesact (Be sure to tap the Save button!)

Activating this step ensures that the Timesact app can update your store's pages as needed. Without this, the app’s settings won’t apply correctly, so please be sure it’s enabled. Remember to click "Save" in the top-right corner. When you select "Enable," we automatically switch it on.

Creating a new selling plan in Timesact

A selling plan is a collection of settings you must apply to sell preorders and backorders in Shopify. It is very useful for things like partial payments, inventory management, and discounts, and it is also mandatory. For this reason, even if you have not created a selling plan before but are adding products into the app in the Products tab to put on preorder, in order to complete the flow, you will be prompted to create a new selling plan.

Otherwise, you can create a new selling plan in the Settings tab under the Selling Plans.

Tap the New Selling Plan button on the top right corner of the screen.

You will be prompted to give a name for your selling plan, which must be unique.

Once you have entered your preferred name, tap the Create Selling Plan button on the bottom right of the pop-up.

In the next screen, you will see all the settings options at your disposal, some with their sub-options. Here is the full list:
